This latest volume in the World Yearbook of Education series examines the global education industry both in OECD* countries as well as developing countries, and presents the works of scholars based in different parts of the word who have significantly contributed to this area of research. Antoni Verger is Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Christopher Lubienski is Professor of Education Policy at the University of Illinois, and a fellow with the National Education Policy Center. Gita Steiner-Khamsi, PhD, is Professor of International andComparative Education and Chair of the Department of International and Transcultural Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.
