Emily Brontë (1818-1848) was an English novelist and poet best known for her singular masterpiece, Wuthering Heights. Born in Thornton, Yorkshire, and raised on the remote moors of Haworth, she was the fifth of six children in the Brontë family, whose literary talents would become legendary. Emily Brontë died of tuberculosis at just 30, leaving behind a brief but profoundly influential legacy.
