Wyatt's Rebellion was an unsuccessful uprising in England in 1554. Led by Sir Thomas Wyatt, it arose from widespread concern over Queen Mary I's determination to marry a foreigner, Philip II of Spain, and to restore England to the Catholic Church under papal authority. The rebellion and its harsh aftermath, would have lasting consequences for the Wyatt family for generations to come.
