His publications include Modernism and the Celtic Revival (2001), Reading the Modernist Bildungsroman (2006), and The Literary Theory Handbook (2013). He is editor of A History of the Modernist Novel (2015) and co-editor (with Patrick Bixby) of A History of Irish Modernism (2019).
