Though she never confides in anyone about the trauma she endured, it becomes clear through Eve's reactions and growing anxiety that her past is catching up to her. Meanwhile, new tensions arise as Brandon Black, a powerful investor with predatory tendencies, enters her professional world, and Eric Nickels, a charismatic pickleball pro, begins showing suspiciously pointed interest in Eve, much to Jason's discomfort. As past dangers begin to resurface and dark memories emerge, Eve recognizes the signs of human trafficking that threaten to crumble her carefully built walls.

The novel weaves light-hearted scenes of pickleball and friendship with mounting suspense, emotional trauma, and resilience. C.S. Singer lives in Boca Raton, Florida. She is happily married for 37 years and has two grown children, one daughter-in-law, one grandchild and one grandpuppy. Previously, she has lived in New Jersey.

C.S. grew up in a loving household in Massachusetts before venturing out after college with her degree in Business. She worked and raised her family before finally finding the time to pursue her dream of writing.
