The novella tells the story of a fictitious Safari city. It was a city inhabited by animals only. After the city had endured insecurity for a long time, an idea came to one of the inhabitant (Tortoise) as the solution to the problem the city was battling with. He presented the idea with a condition of being crowned the King, the idea some animals were not satisfied with. Unexpectedly, the solution quickly became another problem. As the inordinate ambition to become the leader quickly become a serious issue to the city. It led to division among all the categories of animals living in the city. Truth won the war against selfishness and all overambitious candidates contesting for the throne either died prematurely or disqualified by their disability. This happened until only one candidate was left standing and it was that animal that was crowned the King of the Safari city.

Autorenporträt

Ogunlade Olukayode is a Nigerian, born in 1978, a native of Alabe, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. He attended University of Ilorin where he read political science. He also graduated from National Open University of Nigeria, with an LL.B. in Law. He is married and blessed with children. POWER WITHOUT LOVE is his first fictional work. His passion for writing beget this novel and several others coming after.
