In this historical novel, the reader is transported to a bygone era, where customs, traditions, and the causes of wars differed. The author, within a narrative framework, recounts the story of one of the knights of the Arab tribe of Taghlib, and one of the most important heroes of the pre-Islamic era, namely, Adi ibn Rabi'ah, nicknamed Al-Muhalhil or Al-Zir. The novel revolves around the War of Basus, which took place between the tribe of Taghlib and the tribe of Bakr and lasted for nearly forty years. Its events, tinged with imagination, begin in a calm atmosphere before the start of the war and after the killing of Kulayb ibn Rabi'ah al-Taghlibi, and the events continue in successive chapters of the book with increasing suspense until the end.
