Autorenporträt
William Tufnell Le Queux was an Anglo-French journalist, writer, diplomat, traveller, and aviation enthusiast. Born in London on 2 July 1864, he became known for his prolific output of novels and short stories, particularly in the genres of mystery, espionage, and adventure. His career as a journalist gave him opportunities to travel widely, and his experiences informed much of his fictional work. Le Queux held a deep interest in technology and progress, and his fascination with aviation led him to officiate at the first British air meeting held at Doncaster in 1909. He also demonstrated a keen interest in wireless communication, reflecting his broader enthusiasm for innovations that shaped the modern age. Beyond his literary achievements, Le Queux was involved in diplomatic circles, drawing on his international connections in both his real and fictional pursuits. He passed away on 13 October 1927 in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, leaving behind a legacy as a writer who captured the intrigue and uncertainties of his time.
