Rudolf Nurejew gehörte zu den talentiertesten und charismatischsten Ballettänzern dieses Jahrhunderts. In Leningrad unter Alexander Puschkin ausgebildet, ging er mit 22 Jahren in den Westen, zunächst nach Kopenhagen zu Erik Bruhn. Wenig später lernte er die 20 Jahre ältere Primaballerina Margot Fonteyn kennen und es begann die legendäre künstlerische Partnerschaft, die beide zu Superstars nicht nur der Tanzwelt werden ließ.
